have a 2002 s40 130,000 kms automatic
once in a while when turn the key to start up the car, it makes a sound like( if you have the car running and than turn the key, that sreech sound) so its that sound after it fires up, for a quick moment

what could that be....is the starter beginning to go..

If it sounds just like that, it could be the bendix staying engaged a second too long. Or heck, it could be the pulleys or something on initial startup. Too difficult to tell yet. Keep listening.
