Mold in your ac system is a common pest, and I found that sometimes it's just in the ducts, and what I've done is removed the air vent and sprayed the inside of the duct with Lysol and some people use febreze but it really neutralizes that moldy smell. If you treat it a few times you could irradicated that vermin quite efficiently.

Over a period of time, dirt, dust and pollen get stuck on the surface of the fins. There's a lot of condensation there too, and it's a perfect place for bacteria and fungi to collect.
Take the car to a place that specialises in air conditioning and get them to clean it.
