SRS service urgent
Hi all,
Have a 2005 S40 and recently had the "SRS service urgent" light come on. Took it to my local Volvo dealer in Vancouver, BC and they charged me $64.00 to check it out. Came back with the invoice saying " CFFF CODE FOR INTERNAL FAULT IN SRS CONTROLLER -REQUIRES SRS MODULE - APPROX $950.00 parts and labour" according to my invoice - bit of a shocker just before Christmas. They didn't have one in stock so I didn't get it done, but, any body else have a similar experience? Should I take it to an independent Volvo repair shop for a second opinion?
Any help or advice at all would be appreciated.
Regards,
Marty

Is your battery the original one? If so, replace it.
My V-40 started giving an SRS fault, but it was due to low battery voltage although the battery checked good. I changed it after getting the suggestion from a wrench. Needless to say, the battery was much less.
Yes, get a second opinion! My dealership said I had a bad side air bag. I specifically asked if they checked the connector. They said yes, but when the new bag came in and was installed, oops the connector was bad. Of course I then demanded that they take back the new air bag. You know the story, oh the air bag was bad as well. Then let me have it....they had set it off. Well, it will read bad after they pop it.
