Default Surging going up hills

Hi there, my 2002 S40 has an interesting problem. When I am accelerating up a hill it seems to surge. I had it looked at before the warranty (I extended it until last year) and they found nothing wrong, and unfortunately there aren't long hills where you can go over 80 (KmH, not MPH!) close to the dealership, and they're not willing to drive it 100 KM each way to test it. Has anyone experienced such a thing? I'm wondering if it isn't a dirty fuel injector or something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rob

That sounds like one of the key symptoms of a failing fuel pump.
The dealer, a competent garage can confirm proper pump operation...

Thanks Sepp, I'll ask them to have a look at that. Much appreciated, Rob
