I have an 05 s40 2.4 with around 75k miles I lowered the car with springs for 6 months and probably 8k miles. I hated the ride quality so I took them off and replaced all 4 shocks/struts. The ride quality is better not bouncing but when going over bumps it makes a bunch of noise as if the bump noise isn't dampen . I know it can be tons of reasons but what should I replace first? I was always under the impression the shocks took the shock of the road so what keeps the noise down ? I really don't know where to start with this the car rode great before the springs so I believe the compression messed some parts up but not sure which.
