Default suspension issue

So I had the struts and strut mounts replaced. Since I had the repair done the I have had a a creaking sound when I turn the wheel to the left and when I go over speedbumps the left wheel will creak.

Today I jacked up the car and checked all the bushings. Everything looks great.

I got the front end off of the ground and manually turned the front wheels from left to right. On the passenger side the road spring rotates as it should with the strut and wheel, however on the drivers side the spring will rotate on the bottom end but at the top it seem to be binding and the clunks as you turn the wheel.

Is this a spring issue or mount because if I look up in the strut tower with the car off the ground I can see about 1/2"-3/4" gap between the mount and the spring on one side. Shouldn't the spring be all the way compressed against the mount?

Sounds to me like either a bad strut bearing or badly installed bearing.

yep and sounds like the spring is not properly seated. The strut mount and the spring seat have a "slot" where the ends of the spring fit in and it needs to be lined up before assembly. Sounds like it needs to be reinstalled.
