Ticking (lifters?) at startup
Hello All -
I recently purchased a 2004 s40 with (yes i know...) 272k highway miles on it for dirt cheap. my last volvo was the 2001 s40. My question is, when I start the car first thing in the morning i hear a ticking which sounds like lifters coming from the top of the engine. Could this be a weak oil pump? if so how hard is it to replace the pump and what is the location? I don't want to dump a lot of money into the car as it has soo many miles and would defeat the purpose of getting such a good deal on it. The car has had all it's maintenance done by it's previous owner by volvo and he had been meticulous about it (3 timing belts, water pumps, etc...) The oil level is fine and it only ticks for about a minute or so.
Thanks!
