Timingvmark problems 2004.5 s40 t5
Hello I am new to this so please help me. I have a 2004.5 s40 t5 that had a blown head gasket. I did not take it apart it came to me already taken apart. I took the head in and had it checked and surfaced. You could tell someone had done this before as the valves were in great shape just had a slight warp. Also cam gear bolts were stripped. . I put it back together with the cam marks and crank mark lined up perfect but when you spin the motor( by hand) it catches on no. 1 cyl. and the other direction (clock wise ) no. 5cyl. Both on the intake cam when the crank mark is in it place the no 1 cyl. is afew degrees before tdc in a clockwise Mation. How can I reset the cams if the gear is not right in relation to original manufacturer position. I believe the crank gear has a keyway groove but not the cam gears. The car has 131000 miles and I know the car ran great before a road trip where it overheated and blew the gasket thanks in advance for any input given
