I own a 2005 S40 and I thinking of tinting the windows. I dont want anything too dark but I need something that would make the car look good. I have v-kool and 3M available locally (Dominican Republic). Any recommendations from you experts on which color/shade to use??

Im not sure what your laws are but I always use limo tint in my cars.

I have seen terrible results from tinting attempts.

If i were you, I'd dish out some real money and have it professionally done. The wrap tends to form bubbles and fade in the long run and then looks awful.

 

The car is white. I am not doing this myself. it would be done professionally... I just want to get the right shade

 

Since the car is white, just go black on the tint. Try to have them match up the black of the window frame, it'll give it a very uniform look, also keep the same shade all around the car, and don't go lighter in the front like a lot of people i know.

20% reflective on my silver s40 looks so sweet cant see in but you can see out ok and the heat reduction is incredible

 

I like bummers idea of matching the Black. I know that here in Canada you cannot tint Drivers and passenger window to the Limo Tint 100% I think you have to do 20%. I had my old Nissan tinted like that looked ok. The only thing I found that with the 100% it was very hard to see out back windows at night. Plus with the darker tint on the back windows made front ones darker at night as well. Great during day though.
