Default What's you opinion on window tint? Personal experience?

I'm buying a black/black V70 T5 and I really want to tint the windows pertty dark. If you have your windows tinted, how dark is it, and what do you think about it? I've never had a car with aftermarket tinted windows because I've always been afraid of it turning purple or bubbling. How long does it usually last? If you have to take it off how hard is it to do without messing up the rear defroster and antenna? If I use the rear defroster a lot will that damage the tint? Is there a brand of tint that I should use? I'll be having someone do it for me, is there anything to check into? Thanks for any help.

I have my windows tinted.

1. Mine is 35% front and 15% rear.

2. I am glad to hear your having someone do it. However they should be a professional and can supply the tint for you. You shouldn't have to supply the tint. And any tint you buy from the auto parts store is going to be 1. ****ty 2. Turn purple 3. Bubble

3. I have had no problems with my rear window tint and the defroster. Any good tint will not be damaged by it. I am sure the auto parts store tint will be affected by it.

4. Use an Ammonia free window cleaner once you have your windows tinted.

I love my tint by the way and for under $200 it was well worth it. Great quality tint, no bubbles, hasn't and wont turn purple ever.

How is the 15%, too dark at night? I was thinking about doing the whole car in something between 20-35%. The reason I asked about the tint was I assume these places have options, just wondering if there's a certain type or brand I should ask for. Thanks.

Go for the quality ones.

15% is fine at night. 5% would be a bad idea. I would go with 15-20% all around.
