Default Traction Control Temporarily Off

Good afternoon,
I am sure this has been posted or at least a variation of this issue. But I could not find exactly my issues on other posts. So let me do my best to describe my issues... Yes, issues!!!

First, my 2005 S40 goes down the road just fine. But I have an issue with warnings... and I would like to figure out how to fix the issues. Attached picture shows the car running about 60 mph (me driving, wife took picture) and that is about when I get the "Traction Control Temporarily Off" warning. To me, it seems like something is getting warmed up then turning off my traction control... could this be? Because if I slow down for a while or driving in town at low speeds, the warning never comes on.

HELP PLEASE.

Blurry... but should get the point across.

I would be investigating the airbag and brake warnings first.Could be related.

Traction control uses the ABS sensor to control wheel spin so I would start with the sensors. How long do you have the brake and the airbag on?Did the two show up at the same time?Thats how you got the car?

Traction Control started showing up shortly after I replaced the wheel bearings. The car was purchased with the Airbag light on... I am sure it is some sort of sensor as well... but I'd rather have some direction to go instead of spending a lot of cash on stuff that won't fix the issues. Any help is much appreciated.

You need to check the ABS sensors if they are in place, cracked or the wires are pinched. Also clean them they tend to gather a lot of metal shavings as they are magnetic.

The electrical connector to the level sensor on the reservoir may have come loose. When I bought my 2005 I had the same issue as you. It was fixed after pulling the plastic away from the firewall so I could slip some fingers behind the reservoir and secure the connector. I remember the plastic cover giving me quite a fight before yielding.

Thank you Hudini. I will look into as soon as I can. I have stopped driving the car until I get some of this figured out. I know some are thinking... "take it to the dealer" and i understand that. But the Volvo deal is over two hours away from where I live. Do you recall exactly where the connector is? Is it between the reservoir and the booster? Or is it on the bottom of the reservoir? I just want to make sure I am looking for the correct connector. Thank you for any help you can give.

I was able to look into my car this weekend. The Traction Control issues seems to stem from the front temp senors. I ran a diagnostic on the car while parked and it showed that operating temp of all four temps sensors. Front two are showing 37°C while the rear sensors are showing 0° C. I think that when my car gets up to temp... the sensors are showing the front wheels are over operating temp. How can I fix this?
