Anti skid temporarily off???

My '06 XC90 V8 has the "anti skid service required" shown in the on board computer display and the dealer told me it is due a faulty pressure sensor in the brake hydraulics. He also told me the ABS and the stability control will not work properly if this messsage is on. Does anyone have any information about this?

Mine has the sensor issue too. It is the YAW rate sensor that causes the anti-skid problem. The part itself is more than $300 and dealer wants to charge a total of $600 to do the job.

I had this exact message over the years since I purchased it new in 2006. Dealer has replaced the ABS module each time, which happened twice. Each would last about a year and a half. Recently it went again, turns out the hydralic brake pump was bad and causing these to fail. Since the pump was replaced this message hasn't returned. Might want to look into it at least.

Anti-skid message
Following on my last message: I had one of the two identical brake pressure sensors replaced (it was tested as signalling ouside of specifications) and the message is gone. It turned on again briefly one week afterwards, but it's been a while and it looks OK now. Since then I drove a couple of times on very slipery terrain and I could feel the stability control and antiskid system working right.

What was the issue?
what ended up being the issue? My 07 XC70 is doing the exact same thing right now at 87k

mine did the same thing for over a year. i have a 05 xc90 2.5t with 218k. i replaced the Fuel pressure sensor ($20 and did it myself) and it stopped doing that completely. definitely worth the fix

I've also had a small clunk emanating from the front left during low speed parking manoeuvres. This is after having replaced the entire front suspension in January (top bearing, struts, lower control arm, ball joint and sway bar links).
At the behest of my lovely lady, I borrowed my mates hoist and checked my work.
Everything was tight, so I checked the brakes... all good there.
Then I noticed something - the ABS sensor ring (tone wheel) was further out of the hub on the left hand side!
so I checked the hub nut, which was loose and undone about 1 inch!
A bit of loctite 243 and a few "ugga duggas" of the rattle gun and all the problems are fixed!
