I see no one answered the last question on this subject. Is it possible to change the fuid and fiter in the Volvo transmissions? I have been looking for the filter on line and cannot find it. I have a 2002 S40 and need to do this same thing in it.

 

I don't believe they have a filter. The fluid is synthetic. I forget the number but Mobil makes it.

You can do a flush by removing the trans fluid lines that go to the radiator and running new fluid in through the supply line and catching the old stuff that comes out the discharge line.
