Default Trans filter and fluid change

How difficult is it to change the transmission filter and fluid on a Volvo 740? Never worked on a Volvo before.
Thanks in advance.

You will be better off just draining and refilling from the drain plug in the trans pan.

Ok, fill me in. Is there a filter screen and can the trans fluid be drained by dropping a pan or are Volvos different?
Now you have my curiosity up. Just draining from the drain plug seems too easy.

Volvo doesn't reccomend replacing the filter. Just pull the drain plug and it will drain about 3 Qts. Then top it off and you will be fine.

OK. I said my son bought a 740. It turns out it is a 760. Any difference and what kind of ATF does a Volvo use?
