I'm new here and to Volvo. My fiance has a 2006 S40 that needs some attention. The doors are loud and squeaky. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a plastic strap (?) in addition to the regular ol' hinges. Can anyone give any advice on the best way to fix the squeaks?

Also, the paint on this car is awful. There are lots of spots on the horizontal surfaces where the paint is cracking and/or faded. She said the dealer told her that the paint is not covered under the car's warranty. Has anyone else run into this? Any advice?
