Default Volvo code P2135

Hello I have had many issues with my 2006 S40 T5. I just got it back from the dealer where they fixed my check engine light and “reduced engine performance” message. They replaced the throttle body saying that was the issue. They had already replaced it about 2 years ago so it was covered under parts warranty. I’ve been driving it for about a week since getting it back and the CEL and reduced performance message has popped back up. It’s throwing the code P2135 which says “throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A/B voltage correlation”. Any ideas what this could possibly be, I’ve had this car in and out of the dealership so many times and nobody can seem to figure it out.

Check out https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/c...-p2135.217220/

This suggests the dealer may want to redo the calibration or check for wiring issues (ie clean connectors/inspect for damage). When you say they replaced the throttle body, did they check/replace the pedal position sensor ?

the CEL has turned off since I posed this and the car seems to be driving fine for now. But if the issue pops back up I guess I’ll just bring it back to the dealer and see if they can recalibrate it then. Thanks!
and from what I understand on these cars the pedal position sensor is built into the throttle body. So you cannot replace one without replacing the other.

I'm confused - there IS an accelerator pedal position sensor built into the pedal (right at the top - can't miss it). A replacement is a bit over $100 from rockauto (seems to be identical to the other $200 option, but a boneyard part will most likely work great, and cost a fraction of that much).

FWIW, the Torque Pro app (which is a $10 - IIRC - app) uses a cheap ($12-20) bluetooth OBD "dongle", and shows the pedal position and the throttle position (IIRC - it's been a while since I sold my Volvo, but I'm nearly certain I had both of those parameters loaded into my "road trip dashboard" on the app). Below is a typical custom dashboard, though it doesn't include the pedal position or throttle position displays.

Oh I see, Yeah the sensor being built into the pedal makes sense. I might try replacing that since it's relatively cheap. I will also look into those Bluetooth dongles. Thank you!
