Volvo front side light structure came off
This is an unusual situation. I was driving down the road and suddenly I heard a clunking sound. It was not loud and seemed to go away after a few minutes.
When I got in my driveway and got out of the car; I saw the side parking light on the drivers side had worked free, plastic cover and all. Whathe!
Anyway it is hanging by the electrical wire. Does this easily go back in? How can I fix this. Nothing seems to be broken, it is just that the light structure (it is next to the headlight structure) has worked free. How can this be fixed?
Respectfully,

I had the same thing happen to me last week, I have an 02 s40 and I looked at everything closely, and what i'm thinking is that there was a rubber grommet in the hole where the pointed plastic piece fits. All you can do now is duct tape it on until you can get the rubber grommet. Hopefully the dealer will sell it to you.
The turn signal assembly is held in place with a long vertical phillips screw that ties it to the headlight assembly. The 2 plastic protrusions that slip into the corresponding holes on the metal fender are for alignment. I would suspect the hold down screw worked loose.
On my first attempt to remove the turn signals I pulled sideways and promptly broke the two plastic protrusions on the turn signal housing. JB Weld is your friend here. Always be gentle with this plastic stuff. If it does not move freely then something is wrong or still connected.
Gently slide the housing straight back in from front to rear (not up/down or left/right). Get a phillips screw driver to make sure the set screw is up and out of the way on the headlight. Once the turn signal assembly is seated you should see the set screw line up with the plastic on the back of the turn signal assembly. Gently tighten the screw down until it holds the turn signal snugly to the headlight housing.
