I everyone, I am new hear and wanted to hesr your oppinions on a problem I have.

I have a Volvo S40 1.6d diesel from 2007. Great car and and love driving it.

Several years ago when my wife and I drove in Germany we suddenly had a loss of power and acceleration. When we gor home from that trip with like no more than 60 miles per hour I found one of the vacuum hoses to be teared up. Put on a new hose and fixed the problem.

few months ago I suddenly had the same lack of power. And of course checked the hoses again, but found no problems. Took of the egr and cleaned it, and only gave me better fuel consumption. I have had a few read outs on codes, but different kinds: p0299, p2458, p242f and p0341. But havent had read outs for the past weeks what so ever. It sort of limits the rpm to 3100, and really slow power and acceleration.

hooked off the maf and that gives me a limit of 3000 rpm.


any ideas of what to look for?

did try to erase the faults and drive again to see which ones return or if any of them is permanent?
How's the DPF status?
