I have this 1999 Volvo S40 1.8, and also a 1998 Volvo S40 T4...

The T4 has a connecting rod hanging out of the block after the engine hydro-locked...

I am thinking about swapping all the turbo parts from the T4 to the 1.8...

I already realize it would need the exhaust manifold, turbocharger, intercooler and induction system (excluding intake manifold?)...

I do also realize that the compression ratio of the B4184S is 10.5:1 vs 10.3:1 in the B4194T engine, and also will have weaker internals, but it should definately hold up to the 150kw output, right ?

My plan was to swap the parts outside of the B4194T to the B4184S engine, that is exhaust manifold, turbocharger, and all exhaust related items, installing a drain plug on the B4184S block and oil feed to the turbo.

Intake side i would try to use the B4184S intake manifold and just transplant the injectors but would replace it with the B4194T intake manifold aswell if needed (both have the same part no. 1270605), the crank sensor and trigger should be the same between models as they utilize the same transmission.

ECU wise i wanted to use the B4194T ECU, Immobilizer chip and key, maybe open up the ECU and install a tune (have access to a dyno), will probably have to back up the ignition anyway because of different shape pistons (B4194T are designed for more squash (FI)).

Is there a MAP sensor on these engines? Or do they only utilize MAF ?

Is there a LSD unit available for the transmission?
