put the car in for an oil and filter change over a week ago ,thinking this will solve the problem, but the engine service light came on again,can any one advise me on this

 

If it's the "service" light - that should have been reset by whoever did your oil change. That simply comes on after x miles or x time reminding you to service the car. Some places don't do that because they don't have the knowledge or know of the procedure.

If it's the "engine" light - you will need to have the car scanned with a compatible scan tool to determine if and what self diagnostic codes are present, then formulate a plan to cure that or those problems.
