Wheel removal
Hi I own a 2000 S40. I was tryin g to remove the rear wheel of the car but whe I removed the 4 lug and whe I pulled the wheel, it the didn't came out. The wheel has a special lock or somethinf like that? How I can remove it?
If you have completely removed all 4 wheelnuts then the wheel should come off.
Try tapping it with a rubber mallet all around the inside & outside of the wheel, especially near the hub. If that doesn't work, try squirting some penetrating oil around the area where the wheel contacts the hub (cover the brake assembly with a cloth to avoid overspray), leave it to soak in, then try the rubber mallet trick again.
If it still will not budge, maybe put a piece of thick, short wood across the inside of the wheel (to spread the hammer force) & then hit the wood with a 4lb club hammer. Hopefully it won't come to this.
Make sure the car is properly & safely supported - don't rely on the jack Volvo supplied - while your're using a bit of brute force!
I'm guessing that the wheel is alloy & has seized onto the hub. Maybe when putting the wheel back on, put a little copper-eze grease on the hub, where it will contact the wheel. Do not use grease on the threads of the wheelnuts.
Interested to know how you get on.

Give it some WACKING from the backside. Then before installing it use a wire brush and clean off all the rust from the center by the rotor.
They are known to do that.
