Default where to get a larger dia sway bar for my V40?

Hi,
I find that the rear end of my V40 could use some stiffening up. I've got the stock stabilizer bar on there and was wondering if any of you have found a decent source for some heavier duty bars.

Isn't IPD supposed to be the Volvo "handling experts" or something like that?

IPD used to sell a sway bar for the S40/V40 but I believe it has been discontinued. Whiteline also had one and other handling parts.

Back when I had my '02 S40, I installed Koni Yellow Sport shocks and struts on an otherwise stock suspension. It made a world of difference. I later added the Volvo strut tower brace which was also a noticeable improvement.

These cars were co-designed and built with Mitsubishi (Carisma) at the Nedcar facility in Born Holland. Apparently some of the Lancer (EVO) parts fit but I don't know which ones or years.

I had a hell of a time getting the right hardware when I ordered it many years ago. There were only two US authorized sellers at the time, they have serials you can use to verify on their site if the bar is legit. Many folks have ordered from ebay without complaints I just can't recommend which sellers.

Also - I can't recommend that front lower brace if you see it while browsing.... mine rubbed against my downpipe/flex pipe section and rotted out after a year. Definitely tightened things up though.

Thanks, TEEKAY. Exactly what I was after. So no issues with the sway bar rusting?

No issues with rust at all, it doesn't touch any metal to metal.

The thicker diameter bar could create issues with the mounts, but I haven't had any issues yet. Firebolt had the IPD bar and that used to come with reinforced mounts, the bits that hang down from the frame and the bar attaches to. The proton wira also has this, you can see available on their listing for UR, but I couldn't get them. So if there were any issues it would be that.... but I haven't had any issues with it thus far and it's been installed for a few years.
