Default 92 740 sway bar link question

740 Wagon, Passenger side sway bar link was broken in half.
replaced both sides and put in polyurethane bushings. A month later the passenger side was broken in half again! Am I putting these on too tight or something?
Could not find tightening specs. Thanks!

I would try to check good and make sure something isn't bent. You tighten down on them till the start smushing. If it keeps breaking in half either something is bent or someone keeps hitting a huge pot hole.Make sure the sway bar or the lower control arm isn't bent. You might have to have an alignment done to tell you if something is bent.

I checked and things look OK ...car tracks straight. No major pot holes etc. The only thing I can think of is the sway bar is bent but it looks fine to me. This time I made them less tight and will see what happens. Thanks for the input!

Well the drivers side went again and I went over everything to see if all is right.
And it was so here is the deal. Looking at the break in the swaybarlink, its a clean break but in the middle is a line of rust. (there are new from Volvo) I think I bought a bad batch of poor quality links. 4 of them now!
The front struts are not new but they are not beat either.
But when pushing down on the bumper, you can feel the struts get a little hard towards the end of travel. So I am pretty sure the are bottoming out and that put the xtra tension on the swaybar links. This was driving me crazy but I think I have it all figured out now.

That is very possible.
Also when you install the new link drop it down and look at both sides good.
Make sure the sway bar itself isn't bent.
Make sure with it on the ground both sides are at similiar angles.

The swaybar is fine. Just one of those quirky things and just thought I would post my findings so if someone has the same issue of links breaking over and over again it might steer them in the right direction fir the cause of the issue.
