Blower Constantly Stays On When Car is On
I have owned a 2002 s60 n/awith 95,000 miles without any major or minor problems. Butfor severalweeks nowthe blower will continue to blow even if it isat the off position while the car is on.
I would say it blows like it is on the second or third position (from off)- no matter what position it points to. Even when thedial is on the off position it continues to blow like it is on the second or third position. The A/C and heat works as it should. I do not have the IAQS. I have checked all the related fuses. There are no strange noises orodors.
Is there some kind of resistor that needs to be replaced - though if the resistor was broken, wouldn'tthe blowerturn off if it was in the off position and wouldn't itblow constantly on high in any other position except in the off position? Thanks for any help or ideas in advance.

UPDATE:
Took it to Volvo for an estimate, and they said most likely the resistor. They wanted to charge me $450.00. I bought the resistor online for about $95, installed it and works great. The original one I removed was of the same brand that I bought: Behr.
I'm glad I got this done before the South Florida summer arrives!
