'04 S60 - Noise between 55 and 60 mph
Hi,
I own a 2004 S60 2.5T with 67k miles on it, and have owned it since about 54k with only new tires and oil changes.
Recently (or what I know of) the car seems to have significant road noise that I cannot locate the origin of, although some passengers suggest the rear passenger side. The excessive noise starts at about 55 mph and grows until 58 or 59 mph then dissipates into what I believe is standard road noise. If I stay within the speed range, the noise stays.
Can this be anything but the tires? I've read threads about engine noise due to aging timing belts and the like but I just don't hear a 'knocking' or rattling sound.
Thanks,
jimihend2
