I left my 04 S60R with 6-speed manual transmission parked for 16 days while I was away on vacation. The transmission was gorgeous when I left, but now I'm having problems getting into any of the even numbered gears (ie 2, 4, 6, and R, the ones I pull into rather than push). The odd numbered gears (1, 3, 5) are all fine, and the problem is on both up- and down-shifting. Double clutching seems to help (maybe). I can get it into gear with a little difficulty, sometimes with a little crunch, but it doesn't slip out once it's in there.

What should I look at?

Lubrication? Where?
Adjustment? How?

Of course, the left-it-standing-for 16-days could just be a coincidence.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 

I forgot to mention that the ABS module is currently out of the car - it's at a repair service. I doubt that it would be causing my issue but thought I'd mention it in case.
