05 S60 Car loses power and then stalls
My 2005 S60 lost power while driving at 70mph and I had all I could do to get to the side of the road. I was given no warning and I did not hear anything. (At first, I was thinking a timing belt must have broken)
I have seen some posts about a fuel filter sensor being flaky on these cars.
Any thoughts?

Hi there!
Even though you may have not gotten any warning lights like the orange "service engine" light or orange engine icon maybe the computer may have some information stored.
If i am not mistaken your car is equipped with an electrical throttle body sensor. Normally when this sensor malfunctions the engine computer does not know how much acceleration you are putting from your throttle pedal (gas pedal) wich has also a sensor that tells the tps (throttle position sensor) how much you are putting. This prevents the engine from accelerating therefore it will make you feel that there is no power. Unless of course it accerates (revs) fine and still no power.
From experience i could tell you that some sensors fail only at certain temperatures. Or after a given operating period of time.
Go to an autoparts store like #Autozone and have them put the obd scanner (free) even if the service engine light is off. You may be surprised of what it may say.
Other than that althought i only recommend it as a last minute resort disconnect your battery and let everything reset.
Let me know how it went. Thanks.
