I'm thinking of upgrading my rims and maybe going up to 18". Anyone have any good recommendations for custom rims, either online or in the Seattle area? I'd love to find some rims that have some metallic blue on them somewhere to match my paint.

Also, what do I need to consider when going up a size? I've read somewhere that the dynamic chassis settings can be affected because they're tuned specifically for the 17" wheels that are stock on the R-series. Any truth to that?

No truth to that. The OEM Pegs come in 17" and 18" wheels. There are a lot of guys running 19's as well. ViVA has the TDR 1.2 and 1.3's and the extremely expensive VST Monoblock wheels which all look really good on the R's and most importantly, clear the Brembo calipers. You'll have to do some color matching your self though. Most important thing when looking for wheels for the R's is that they clear the calipers. There are always other brands of wheels goring for sale on SS in the classifieds section.

You HAVE TO have Pegs on the R!!!

I would like to have a set of 17" Pegs on my T5R. My son has them on his 98 S70 T5M and he finished them in anthracite. They look great. Much better wheel than the Titans that came on the T5R originally, but look very similar.

 

You should look the Heico Volution V wheels, Heico makes performance parts specially for Volvo's. These rims are also a nice 5 spoke design.

 

The Volution V's are awesome wheels. Very similar to the Pegs but different enough to be unique.
