Unhappy 2002 s60 2.4t w/ stc

abs light comes on and odometer stops working when car warms up; looking to correct these issues to trade the car. suggestions

Sounds like the abs module is starting to (if it hasn't already) go. A DIY fix would be buying a new module and installing it yourself. Whether the dealer fixes it or DIY, it will be pricey.

found a couple of places that will rebuild if i remove and ship to them ( one at 400 the other at 540) plus shipping. any input on this option? no way to power off the warning light ( fuse)? does odometwer power circuit pass thru abs module ? speedometer functions even when odometer doesn't .

That is your best bet. Had a family member do that for his S80 and when it came back, it worked just fine. I know when the abs module starts to go, it causes all kinds of electrical problems mainly in the information cluster so the odometer is probably another symptom of a failing abs module. You can try and pull out the fuse and replace it with another one for a quick fix before you send in the abs module.
