2004 S60R stalls on warm start up
I’m not even sure how to fully explain this, the car is an automatic and for some reason on warm start ups the car will start to rev at pretty high rpms then idle too low and shuts off. I can sometimes fight it by manual shifting into First and then the problem goes away after I get some speed but the problem itself is very confusing. It doesn’t always happen and never on a cold start up, but occasionally if I stop to get gas or shut it off for only a couple minutes this problem can occur. Anyone seen this before?
someone mentioned it might have something to do with an idle box?

warm start issues can be caused by fuel trim issues. A few things in play 1) engine temp sensor 2) MAF 3) fuel pressure sensor 4) intake air leaks or exhaust leaks 5) electronic throttle mechanism. Have you seen any fault codes? Re the idle box, they may be referring to an idle air control valve. That's usually found on older FI cars, don't think the S60R has one since it has the ETM.
