Unhappy 2004 Volvo S60 (no power suddenly)

Bought car used its been running fine no issues for 3-4 months then all of a sudden at a traffic light it stalled, no power completely dead, hazards don't work nothing , its not the battery got towed to a friend of mines who is mechanic, he tested the battery, alternator and ignition switch all came back clean had to access the trunk to get to the battery from the back seat cushion that can only be accessed if your in the trunk which is a great design, then one day the car just started up fine, checked it the next day completely dead, hooked it up to a diagnostic tester but with completely dead power it doesn't have much to say, has anyone seen this with a S60 where its fine and then completely without power but everything else is fine? appreciate it my friend is a mechanic but he really has no idea at this point, car was for my son its his first car and I don't have any answers its really weird, with no clues pointing to anything

How old is the battery? There is really nothing other than the battery that will make the hazards not work. (they are designed to work when you have car problems)

If nothing works electrically - you either have a bad battery or a bad connection to the battery or where the ground wire connects in the trunk.
