Hello fellow Volvo owners, my enquiry is that my car vibrates/resonates when idling in drive gear. Only 10 000 km's done & engine bushes/mounts changed at 5 000 km's but no difference.
this vibration was more noticable after 4,500 km's travelled.

Did they replace all the mounts?

There should be 4 of them.
Was there vibration after they changed the mounts?

all 4 mounts were changed and initially it seemed better but after another 1000 km's it seemed to be the same again. I was told to use regular unleaded fuel as i did not have the turbo engine.Should I be using premium 95 octane or 98 octane fuel ? I did use 95 octane fuel and it did not make any difference, in fact the engine would make knocking sounds when reved in neutral gear !!!
A friend has a wagon v70 auto 2.4 turbo and it is much smoother & less vibration idling in drive gear.
Would the injectors need cleaning ?

 

Possibly the injectors need cleaning but I doubt it.
Sounds like something might be rubbing or touching somewhere.

There was also some problems with the mounts holding the Cat. Converter to the cross member.
