I'm hearing a fairly loud bumping noise in the front suspensionwhen hitting bumps at slow speed. What might it be and would I be able to repair myself?

 

Usually the 2 things that cause this is.
1.Sway bar links bad. (easy to fix)
2.Upper spring seat on strut.(more complicated to fix)

To check the upper spring seat open the hood and get a 13/16 wrench and try to turn the top nut for the strut. If it turns easy it is bad. If it feels rubbery and bounces back it is good.
