2005 S60 Alarm Service Required
I just purchased this car. The previous owner told me the alarm siren doesn't work and the sunroof doesn't work. I have read MANY threads on this. I've checked the siren and sunroof fuses - both are good. I pulled the siren fuse and it had no affect on the sunroof. I was pretty certain I need to replace the siren module and I plan on ordering that. But one this I wanted to jump on here to make sure this is my problem.... When I lock the doors with the fob, the lights flash. When I try to activate the alarm (roll window down, shut door, lock and then open from the inside) the lights do not flash and the siren does not go off. When I put the key in to start, I get a message that the alarm was activated. The lights not flashing is throwing me off - is the siren module still my only problem or is there something else I need to look at?
You need to replace what is called the "alarm module". For whatever reason, Volvo designed this vehicle that if the alarm module battery goes dead, then the sunroof will not work.
They are about $200.
They are about $200.
