Exclamation 2007 S60 2.5t loss of power intermittently

I’m having an issue with random very short intermittent loss of power while driving and it occurred this morning for the first time from pull off. The car has been well cared for and has 108k miles. Any odea on where to start looking or what the issue possibly is?

Thanks,
Jim

Most of the time this problem relates to a fuel delivery issue. I'm over-simplifying since there are a number of sensors that can trick the computer into cutting back fuel.

One area to check is the two soft rubber turbo hoses. If they are deteriorated then they will leak boost air which totally upsets the fuel delivery.

If you find those deteriorated, then I highly recommend the Gates brand. The URO doesn't last.

If all of that looks good, then I would suspect that the crankcase breather system is plugged and you are backing up crankcase pressure into the intake, again, upsetting the system balance.

How many miles?

With the engine warmed up and running, pull the dipstick. If you can see a stream of crankcase gasses coming out the tube, then the PCV system needs serviced. I can walk you through the procedure.

If no crankcase gasses are present...

Then check the turbo hoses and update the thread.

Alright I will definitely give that a shot and then update. Probably will be Saturday or Sunday before I have a chance.

thanks
