Hi all. I've owned a 2007 S60T for approx 2 years and recently the transmission is beginning it's death throes. Took in to the dealer and, after they ran a diagnostic, they told me to "drive it until it dies".

The car has only 49K miles on it - exterior and interior is in great shape - and it runs strong on the highway.

Giving this limited information, is there a market for a parts car? Obviously I'd like to get as much out of this car as I can; I think the blue book is less than 3K. Is my best bet donating her and taking the deduction ?

That's a far cry from a total transmission failure. As a dealer specializing in used Volvo, we've changed dozens of solenoids and in each case, it solved the problem. You'll need 4 qts of Mobil 3309 fluid and the shift solenoid kit.

I thought I needed a new tranny. 2003 s60. I got the valve body changed and it was perfect. Saved $3000.
