Question 2007 Volvo S60 AWD Popping / Cracking Noise When Turning

*I'm not a huge car person so there's a lot of words here that may be used incorrectly so I apologize for that*
Hi, I got a Volvo S60 about a month ago for my first car, I love it just got a new timing belt on it and it's been kept well. But there's a popping noise when we turn, usually only when you go for a steep turn but sometimes it'll just it just turning; in both directions as well.
My grandfather is a mechanic and he's the one who replaced my timing belt and he thought it was a bad tie rod but he took apart the wheel and said he couldn't find anything, said he put some lube on it and to bring it back if it got worse.

Well, it hasn't gotten worse per say, but it hasn't gotten any better. I'm pretty stubborn and I refuse to accept there's no way of finding the issue and fixing it. It makes me anxious when I hear the noise it sounds awful at times and I find it hard to believe it's harmless. So I was wondering if anyone here might have any clue what the issue may be or experience with the same problem. Any helps appreciated.

(Oh and the check engine light with the message on the display being: "Engine Service Required" came on a couple of days ago. Haven't been driving it since and taking it to Volvo dealership for oil change and computer scan Wednesday)
