Default 2008 Power Steering Rack replacement

I apologize if this question has been asked here before, but does anyone have a breakdown or step by step procedure for replacing a power steering rack on a 2008 Volvo S60 with the knuckle. Currently mine is leaking from both boots, roughly 200 ml per day, and we've tried a stop leak product for about a month now to no avail, so we're looking at doing a replacement of the parts. I've priced out the parts at $1175+tax, and just need a step by step for review of how to remove and replace the rack.

Thanks

Are you sure you want to spend that kind of money on a new rack? I would be very tempted to find a used one online from a low mileage car. Heck, you could do the job 4x over (if you are doing yourself) before you hit that price. As for instructions, I'd recommend getting yourself a copy of VIDA on ebay. If you are doing your own repairs, you will be happy you have this on hand. Just need to make sure you have a vintage PC or laptop on hand to run it. It provides step by step instructions for every job you'll come across on your Volvo. It's what the dealership techs use.

I’ve looked at picking up a steering rack from a wrecker, but there aren’t that many 2.4T S60’s around, and you have to match them by VIN numbers. You don’t know what you are getting at the wrecker, how many kms or what shape it was in, so you might not be any further ahead. I’ve looked at the tech manual that you listed, but that doesn’t help me as I have a Mac. I’m checking to see if the Haynes S60 00-09 manual from Britain is worth me picking up, as Haynes doesn’t have anything for North America.

this is why I was asking here, saving myself the dealer shop rate, and whatever they think needs to fixed along with it.

thanks for the suggestion though
