2008 S60 Timing Belt
I’m replacing my daughter 2008 S60 Turbo timing belt. What has been confused me is the “original” timing marks on two CA sprockets don’t align with the marks on the timing upper cover. If I perfectly align the timing mark on the intake CA side to the upper cover’s timing notch, then the timing mark on the exhaust CA side is about 2” behind from the timing mark on the left side of the timing upper cover. The installation instructions came with the part saying both timing marks on the CA sprockets must align with the marks on the timing upper cover and the mark on the CS must also align too.
Should I install a new belt the same position as it is or I just follow the instructions came with the parts?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

With a magnified glass, I found the marks (no bigger than a hair line). The good news is I already replaced the belt, belt tensioner and idler.
The bad news is I found some oil in the intake camshaft area. Interesting thing is the sprocket does not mount directly to the camshaft but on an adapter (like a cup shape) with oil in there. Does anyone has procedures to replace the seals?

Check for positive crankcase pressure
Use a nitril or latex glove, remove your oil fill and rubber band the glove mouth to the oil filler tube. Do this test cold then remove the glove heat the car and do the test hot. As you rev the car up the glove should suck down some. If it inflates then you have positive crankcase pressure and a PCV issue with the car and it will push oil out of every seal it can including the cam shaft. The cup item that you are referring to is the VVT unit or Variable Valve timing.
