2012 S60 T6 AWD -- Reliability?
Have any of you had problems with the 2012 S60 model year? I've read that the 2012 model year wasn't a great year and there's been problems with excessive oil usage.
I am considering buying one this week -- 2012 S60 T6 AWD with approx 93,000 miles, 2 owners, very few carfax records on it.
Any advice or things to ask about to check out when looking into it? Is there a way to check the codes to see if anything is present?
Thanks,
Chad

I wouldn't trust Carfax. I've seen cars sell that I KNOW had accident history (as in I knew the owner had a reported accident in the car) which Carfax did not show.
Take it to a good Volvo mechanic for a pre-sale inspection. You can check codes with an OBDII reader, but codes are easy to clear/reset so that's not really a good indicator.
FWIW, Consumer Reports gives the 2012 S60 a 4/5 for reliability (which is very good) and a 3/5 for owner satisfaction (which is average).

Well, I would like to know as well. There's a 2012 S60 T6 R-Design with 27k miles for sale at a decent price and my V-Series Caddy has over 100k miles now, so I thought I should replace it. I've read about electrical gremlins but can't say it's a common failure for sure. Anyone? BTW, I had the worst experience ever with my S40. It was by far the most unreliable car I've ever owned. I just like Volvos a lot and I want to convince myself that I bought a lemon S40 that time.
