Default 2012 Volvo S60 Mystery Electrical Issue

Last week I installed this
under hood rodent repellent device under hood rodent repellent device
in my 2012 Volvo S60. Almost immediately, I started experiencing unusual electrical issues. My car had trouble cranking and the clock reset every time I turned the vehicle on/off. I decided to remove the device after a few days but my electrical issues persisted. The following day my car would not start so I took my battery in to get it tested and the shop determined that it needed to be replaced even though it was only a few months old. After installing the new battery, both of my low beam bulbs went out. My car continues to have trouble starting and I now am getting a message that my ignition is on after a failed attempt at starting the vehicle. Does anyone have any ideas about what is going on? I am worried that the rodent repellent device damaged my electrical system

That device wouldn't do anything to affect the car by the waves it emits. Sounds like you might have something drawing power while the car is off.

Those rodent devices emit sound waves that humans can't hear but it bothers rodents.

The device states it auto offs when below 10.5V which is not enough to start a car. Good move getting rid of it. Check the voltage on your new battery make sure it is around 12.5V.

Make sure you cleaned up the wiring from when the device was installed and it isn't still drawing a current.

I detached the device from the car's battery and removed it altogether. Unfortunately, I am still running into electrical issues, even with the new battery installed.

If a new battery dies within a month, its time to check out the alternator/voltage regulator. If you have a multimeter start by measuring voltage across the battery terminals with the engine off. Should be 12.6 to 12.8V. Next start the car and check the voltage with the engine running. Does the voltage stay arounds 14V or does it spike up or step down? with the engine still running, put a load on the system ie rear defroster, high beams, AC blower motor, AC-DC on the stereo etc. Meaures voltage again - does it stay around 14V or does it drop below 13V? Again does it stay the same or wander/drop down?
