Default 2012 Volvo S60 - Water leak via sunroof

Hello:

I have a 2012 Volvo S60, and I’m running into an issue with a water leak. It is leaking through the sunroof drain tubes (not sure what the “official name” for the exact part is) and coming down and leaking into the passenger side. It will leak out under the glovebox area, and completely flood the passenger side.

In attempts to fix it, I took an air compressor, and rigged a little tube up to fit in both drain holes, and blew lots of air in. The first time I did it, it seemed to resolve the issue for about a month, then it started happening again. So I went back to the same process as before. However, this time I did not work.

Is there anyone out there who has a work-around for this issue? Any input is greatly appreciated.

I would suggest checking the sunroof drain tube for ruptures. This tube runs down the a-pillar. You'll need to remove the a-pillar trim inside the car.

When I cleaned mine, I used a chemical like ROTO-ROOTER or Drano that is designed to dissolved bio type clogs. That really helped clean it out.

However, with all the cleaning, I was still getting water intrusion. Ended up being a faulty front windshield seal. Came out during a storm and the whole car was flooded. Killed my electronics and caused me over $3,000 worth of damage.

Default Thought it was the Drain Tubes.

Ended up being the windshield pulling away from the upper lip edge of the frame. Dealer had a 3rd party contractor pull the windshield and re adhere with fresh urethane adhesive. Not a leak since. only issue was the installer damaged the paint with a razor blade and was not able to save the integrated rubber flap/strip on the top edge of the windshield.

Simple check, from the inside of vehicle, press on the windshield/glass above/around the Camera. Before my unit was re-installed, there was about 2 to 5 mm in movement/deflection when force was applied with 2 or 3 fingertips.
