I've lost one of my 2 remote keys and need a replacement. What the best and most economical place to buy one? I've called the dealer and they gave me a $400 quote on the part alone and despite two messages, service department hasn't called me back to let me know how much programming will run.

Any better and cheaper alternatives?

Might be able to get a key (without the fob) for a few dollars and the other fob may reappear.
I'd be more concerned with where is the other fob. If lost in the sink garbage disposal, then take your lumps.
If it's fallen in the driveway, you might need a new program to avoid the stealing of the car.

 

It's unfortunately been missing for over 6 months. We've moved in the meanwhile, packed and unpacked all our belongings, searched everywhere and it's not turned up. I think it's permanently lost (or will be found the moment I pay for a new one).

Can a standard key work to start the ignition as well? I have nowhere that I know of to insert a standard key (other than to unlock the door by popping the door handle cover. Where would one get such a key?
