Default 2015 low brake pedal & where is the service manual

I have a 2015 V60 with 80,000 mi and off warranty as of December 2021 dealer serviced until now.

The brake pedal is low enough that my foot presses the accelerator pedal easily.

This isn't a track car with a clutch so no heal & toe desired. Is there a pedal height adjustment? Pads are new. System hasn't been opened to bleed or replace caliper or for any other reason and there is no indication of air in the system. Pedal feels normal and doesn't sink like internal master cylinder leak. Car stops fine. Why would the pedal be low?

Where is the service data for this car? I usually drive older stuff where a hard copy or at least a pdf is available. I'd prefer not to subscribe to Mitchell or something similar everytime I need to look something up.

I have the owners manual. It came with the car. It's the service manual that may only be available on line. I know the dealer couldn't do much when their internet was down.

Other than Volvos computer software, VIDA, I do not think there are good service manuals for newer Volvos. I have VIDA 2014D at home and might be able to check about brake pedal adjustment, but I am quite new with VIDA and have not really sat down to use its full potential. Maybe one of the techs here can provide further insight. VIDA does require an internet connection

Where did you get VIDA and what does it cost? This is why I like older, maintained vehicles. New cars turn $20 issues into $200 problems.

I was referred to someone from my indy shop owner. You can find bootleg 2014D online for free. It is very tough to get used to using VIDA. It is not like a normal scanner.

What I actually purchased was an external SSD with VIDA 2014D, Haynes Owners manual application, and some other very useful programs. My purchase also included a legit (not a china copy) DiCe unit to communicate with the car. I think the total was like $200 or so.

For the most up to date version of VIDA, you need to buy a subscription direct from volvo. I am not sure on the requirements and limitations to this, but I do know it is pricey.

A factory DICE unit is at least $600. You got a clone. 9513000

Fair enough, still worked great. Edit: looked back at our messages, he never claimed it was an actual Volvo unit.

I read if you open them up and look at the chip you can tell

I agree, I puchased 2 factory units for my shop - they work Via a bluetooth connection. And a clone for home use.

So, we talked about VIDA but didn't address the original reason for asking about it. Why might the pedal be low and is there an adjustment?

Remember, no one ever buys a drill because they want the drill. What they really want it the hole. Likewise, I don't want VIDA, I want my car to stop.

If no one with VIDA replies then I would suggest either 1) bring it to a mechanic to check out your brake pedal. 2) take a look at the pedal to check for adjustment. Or 3) when you press the brake pedal, keep your foot over just the brake and not the gas too
