My car became slightly jumpy when taking off a few weeks back. It shutters when taking off & sometimes up to 2/3rd gear. Reduced Engine Performance light came on and you could press reset and that went off. It came on intermittently. Also the check Engine Light has started to come on.

I had the car serviced and the garage man said a general fault came up on Computer. General - reduced Airflow. He seems to be struggling to diagnosis it.

Any ideas what it could be?

Take it to a better mechanic that has a higher quality scanner or a Volvo Indy/dealer. He is using a cheaper scanner that can't properly communicate with the modules in the car. Could be a vacuum leak.

 

+1. could be a dirty MAF or throttle body, could be something restricting the intake air filter, could be a torn hose or vaccuum line. Any signs of a PCV issue?
