2015 v60 roof rack
Ok, a quick search didn't show many results on this. I am thinking about getting a Tule rack for my 2015 v60 t5 premiere. It has the factory rails. Something like this:
2015 Volvo V60 - Base Rack Installation - Thule - Cascade Rack - Bend Oregon Car Racks, Truck Racks, Hitch, and Cargo Outfitter
Does anyone have any input, pics, opinions, etc? I carry my kayaks, lumber, etc and have a yakima roof top box. Im specifically curious about using a wind deflector with setup and where it falls on the moon roof. I am also curious about the level of wind noise. I know this can be mitigated by sliding the rack to the rear when not in use. Is this a quick and easy adjustment?
The setup looks exactly like the factory rack and I have had excellent experience with Thule products in the past.

(full disclosure: I worked for Thule for 10+ years) Will require an allen wrench to move the bars. If you are moving them they are just as easy to take off then. The newer Thule stuff comes will all sorts of gap fillers to eliminate wind noise if you are using the stuff you linked to. My suggestion is not using the wind fairing as adding stuff to the top of the vehicle only adds to the chances of creating gaps for wind noise. On the wife's V60 we just take the rack off in the seasons she doesn't need it which is mostly winter, skis go on my beast. Put it up for bikes in the summer.

I have a 2015 V-60 with the Volvo areoblade type bars on it. The bars are made by Thule I am sure. I am an avid kayak fisherman and have my kayak on the rack several times a week. I have surfboard type pads on the bars. Even set up that way I do not notice the noise too much. Bars are easy to install / de-install and move. When taking long road trips I just take the bars off to reduce the drag.
We have the Volvo setup on ours. I use it mostly for longer things that don't fit inside such as lumber and so forth. I have definitely noticed wind noise with it, to the point where it would drive me nuts on a long trip.
I will be throwing my kayak up there as well. Was considering getting the load stops (link below) to use as anchor points and also for when hauling lumber. What do you use as anchor points SJManning?
If you want to see how I load it here is a link to a video I shot. The video was for a forum related to my kayak, but the last half show how I load the kayak.
I love the white. Thanks for sharing the video. I have a few kayaks, one is a Bic 2 seater which can be cumbersome. I will be following in your footsteps. You look like you are in my neck of the woods. Im in Fort Myers, Fl. Where do you fish
I live in Sarasota and am an avid kayak fisherman. I have fished from Lemon bay to the upper parts of Tampa Bay. Most of my fishing is in ad around Sarasota Bay. Has the Lake Okeechobee discharge issue screwed up the fishing for you in your area?
