Default Aftermarket Shifter **** Potential Issues

Hey guys, seeing as I'm doing research into this topic (which all seem to indicate that a lack of the "shift **** release button thingy" (technical I know) will be an issue). I wanted to know what your guy's experiences (if any) are with putting aftermarket shift ***** in the 2004 5 Speed Geatronic S60s. I know how to pop out the factory one (worn and abused with time), I want a Pistol Grip shifter as I use the manual mode a lot more then leaving it in automatic, and the stock shifter is a little too cumbersome and can be knocked back into automatic mode either making me have to move it back over to manual mode and downshift or, in the case of at the strip, slowing down drag times by lowering boost via lowered engine rpms. Hurst sells a "universal" Pistol Grip Shifter ****, but I doubt "universal" factored in one of these cars. This all sounds like a minor annoyance, I know, but with drag strip season coming up and Ontario lockdown about to end I'd love to know if an aftermarket shift **** can be installed in one of these beasts.

Much thanks, and cheers to dragstrip season!
