Alarm malfunction warning
Hi,
We have a 2016 V60 D2.
Everytime we start the car we see an Alarm malfunction warning, telling us to get it serviced.
The red light flashes as normal telling us it’s armed and the alarm sounds when activated all appears to be normal.
I have read about internal batteries corrosion causing something like this, could this be the case ?
The problem seemingly started, when Mrs was in the car, accidentally locked it with the fob then opened the car door, setting off the alarm. At the time car was around 4 years old.
Additionally, during lockdown it was idle for a few months and the main battery level dropped very low. It’s fine now but still we get the warning.
Of course Volvo wants a £million to look at it.
Can I use an OBD II plug in device to see an alarm fault code?
Is there an alarm reset?
Thanks
