Default Automatic cell phone answering feature

I am an FNG, which means I purchased an S60 T6 AWD three days ago and am contending with an owner's manual the thickness of the Old Testament. Q. After an incoming call has been initiated, what is the lag time before I can be heard by the caller?

Welcome to the forum.

When you answer the call, it only takes about a second before they can hear you. If it is taking longer then that, it could be an issue with the connection between your cell phone and the car.

I had a phone tech issue with Volvo in my (think it was 01 or 02) s60. It was an integrated phone though. It wouldn't work half the time. After several dealer discussions they told me yeah it was a common known problem with no known fix. So I asked the next question, isn't this what "contacts the emergency services when you're in an accident?". And answer was yeah and no known fix. Really the only negative volvo experience I've had.

WOW, that is a major issue. So basically, if you are in an accident and it decides not to work, you are screwed.

Well, yeah, apparently. Here's what I did. Again, this was an 01/02 model with an integrated phone system. My previous car had the phone and for work I'd gotten used to and wanted that feature. But after couple months noticed that sometimes it just did not work. It wasn't a drop calls issue. Just didn't work. Couldn't call out. Couldn't receive calls. Went to the dealer about the phone not working. First time was dunno, seems ok. Second time was dunno, can't find problem. Third time I stopped in at different dealer other side of city while working and they said, yeah, known problem can't find out how to fix. Fourth time back to 1st closer dealer and let them know it was known problem. They said yeah. So then asked how the automatic emergency notification service worked. They said through the phone. I asked if phone didn't work how would notification happen? Got a volvo number and contacted them about it. At the end of it all I just traded the car after about 10 months. I can't validate the facts of this other than it was what I experienced.
