2006 S60 2.5 49,000 miles

I drove the car on some snow and ice last week and it did not feel like it had power to all 4 wheels.

At every intersection the front wheels would spin before it would finally go.

This is my 1st winter with the car and it was the first time I had driven in inclement weather. Obviously I wasn't impressed.

Any idea what could be broken? The car went off of warranty last month
